30 days for credit card theft

Scott Weber’s attorney tried arguing his client out of active jail time, explaining that Weber is his family’s only source of income, but the court refused.

Weber was arrested in October 2008 for credit card fraud. He pleaded guilty to the felony charge at trial in April 2009, and on July 22 the court sentenced him to 12 months in jail with eleven months suspended.

“In my view this calls for time,” Judge Warren said at the sentencing hearing. “And we’re not going to work around your work schedule,” he added, in response to defense’s request that the sentence be served on weekends.

I don’t know the exact story behind this but using someone’s credit card or in worst case stealing it is a crime and is punishable by jail.
