Cabbell, 30, was parked in a business on Route 60 near Route 522 at about 11 p.m. November 26 when a sheriff’s deputy stopped to investigate what he said was a suspicious vehicle. The deputy saw Cabbell, who was in the driver’s seat, throw several items out of the car. The deputy found four bags of cocaine and a pistol under the vehicle. Found in the vehicle were a bag of pills, digital scales and a shotgun, according to Powhatan Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Richard Cox. Cabbell, who was convicted of drug distribution in Charlottesville in 2002, pleaded guilty April 25 in Powhatan to felony gun possession and two counts of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute. He faces a mandatory minimum two-year sentence for the gun conviction and up to 20 years on each of the drug convictions. |
