On Sunday, August 16, the public is invited to attend a Meet Your Candidate event in honor of Gary Reinhardt, candidate for the House of Delegates. The event will be held at the home of Garland and Bud Rasmussen, 1841 May Way Drive in Powhatan.

Reinhardt is running as an Independent for the House seat currently held by Republican Lee Ware. The 65th House District includes western Chesterfield County and all of Powhatan County.  Reinhardt acknowledges the difficulty of running as an Independent with no party affiliation: “I am doing it without the big political machine.  I’m running as an Independent because I’ve heard good ideas from both parties and I strongly believe that nothing should prevent an elected representative from promoting an idea that is good for the people, regardless of its source.”

The event will be an opportunity to meet Reinhardt and his family and to discuss his candidacy.
