Celebrating Independence

The 180th Engineer Company is currently deployed as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The National Guard Unit, based in Powhatan, draws from the Richmond, Roanoke and Bristol, Va., areas.


As the community prepares for our nation’s Independence Day celebration this Saturday, the staff of Powhatan Today would like to take the opportunity to deliver a few special messages from the men and women of the 180th Engineer Company. As we share their words with you, we would like to pass a couple of our own on to them: thank you.


“To my kids, mom, brothers, sisters, and loved ones. I want to say I love you, miss you, and I will be home soon.”
