0 CommentsPublished: July 01, 2009 Contributed reports Powhatan High School graduate Nicholas Snead has been named to the Dean’s List at Longwood University for the spring 2009 semester. Snead, who served as class president during his time at PHS, earned a 3.80 GPA last year while studying Political Science and Music at Longwood. Snead is the son of Andrew and Fannie Snead of Powhatan. Lauren Richardson of Powhatan, Va., received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine during spring 2009 commencement ceremonies. Over 5,000 bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. candidates—along with their families and friends—attended the university-wide ceremony presided by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger on May 15.
They are Ashleigh Marie Holcombe, senior criminal justice major; Justin M. Tolley, senior political science major; and Ciera Alexis Reilly, sophomore recreation, parks and tourism major. To be named to the Dean’s list, a student must have taken 15 or more credit hours and have a grade point average of 3.4 or above with no grade below a C. |
