County-based bank opens new location at Winterfield Published: June 18, 2009 Contributed report Bank of Powhatan announced the opening of its newest branch at Winterfield Place last week. The office opened on Monday, June 8, 2009 and is a full service banking facility. Calvin “Chip” Carter, President of Bank of Powhatan said, “we are excited and look forward to working with the community and meeting our new neighbors.” Senator John C. Watkins, Chairman of the local Bank of Powhatan Board, expressed his enthusiasm about the bank opening. “Banking today is all about service and location. Those two business elements were the focus of the development of this new branch. This will be an extraordinarily convenient location for many citizens of Powhatan and Chesterfield counties.” The bank engages in general commercial banking business and provides a wide array of financial services, primarily to individuals and small businesses, including deposit products, consumer and commercial loans, investment services and fixed rate residential mortgages. |
