County students take top prizes in art show

Powhatan students Kristen Tambellini, Justin Stoner, Anna Stewart and Caileigh Dintino earned blue ribbons in the recent Woman’s Club Art contest.

A number of Powhatan students have taken top honors in a local art show sponsored by the Woman’s Club of Powhatan County.

Those receiving blue ribbons went on to compete at the district level, and from there contestants proceed to the state competition.

Preston James of Powhatan High School received the People’s Choice Award on the district Level for his entry in the art contest.

Other students receiving blue ribbons included:

Anna Stewart of Powhatan Elementary received Best in Show

Justin Stoner, Powhatan Elementary

Trevor O’Brien, Pocahontas Elementary

Madison Haden, Pocahontas Elementary

Brennen Kunka, Powhatan Junior High

Caileigh Dintino, Poetry, “Overflowing Thoughts,” Powhatan Elementary

Kristen Tambellini, Short Story, “The Fire Animals,” Powhatan Elementary
