According to court records, 24-year-old Aaron Neal Turley is charged with five felony drug charges including two counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

“Drug dealers don’t go free in Powahatan”?  Right.  Beasley dropped all charges against John Paul Russell this time last year.  Mr Russell had 400 marijuana plants with in walking distance of Beasley’s office.  I also see where this imbecile is running again.  Would someone please go to Walmart and buy and suit and run against him so we can have some integrity in this county?

Nancy Botwin? What are you doing in Richmond?

I guess I just dont understand why people are shocked or so angry about “drug activity” in Powhatan.
Unfortunately, no matter where you live, small county or big city, there WILL be people doing drugs, people selling drugs and just plain “bad seeds”. Your county isnt above it, no ones is. Just a fact of life.

Again, funny how the Commonwealth’s Attorney states in Circuit Court that, “drug dealers don’t go free in Powahatan”, but clearly they continually do. Does anyone in Powhatan serve jail time for drugs?

So I guess the stuff they found at Bell Rd. on May 13 wasn’t enough for them to charge the people that ran from the house.

I always enjoy reading idiotic comments on articles such as this. The funny thing is, is that your nor my opinion matters to ANYONE. These two adults that were charged and are now being publicly humiliated are people too, and made a mistake and that mistake was getting caught. I guarantee anyone would like to have 35,000 CASH sitting around & anyone who denies it or says its ‘dirty money’ is just lying to themselves. Well guys, have fun and enjoy yourselves, because you all sound boring as shit.

Good day.

drrr..
If that six pack of beer was illegal, expensive and more of a challenge to get a hold of AND persons involved were either alcoholics, or illegal booze dealers….. Then yes people would get shot over a 6 pack. It happened during prohibition and people have murdered and attacked each other for less. Sad truths.
I’m not supporting drug use- just trying to point out that our current system does not handle these things properly.

PP-  in between seizing the money and pocketing the money, there’s this little thing called a trial.  that’s where the accountability comes in dear.

and JJ- I have yet to hear about people stabbing each other and dying in the parking lot of the post office because of an argument over a six pack.
