Five arrests made in connection with Taliaferro murder case

The Powhatan County Sheriff’s Department has arrested five Powhatan residents in connection with the June 24, 2008 shooting death of Powhatan High School student Tahliek Taliaferro.

On August 12, deputies arrested Bennett B. Davis, 19, Brad L. Harris, 34, David T. Franklin, 22, Randall C. Powers, 48, and Brenda F. Powers, 44. All five are suspected in aiding murder suspects Joseph Parrish, Ethan Parrish and Stephanie Reynolds after the three fled the scene of the murder near the Flat Rock area of Powhatan.

Davis is charged with six counts of being an accessory to a felony after the fact, one count of obstructing justice, and one charge of marijuana possession. She is being held without bond pending a court appearance in Powhatan August 15

Harris, 34, is charged with six counts of being an accessory after the fact in a felony, one count of destroying evidence, and one count of obstructing justice. He has been released on a $50,000 bond.

Franklin has been charged with six counts of being an accessory after the fact in a felony and one count of obstructing justice. He is being held without bond pending a court appearance in Powhatan on August 15.

Randall C. Powers, has been charged with six counts of being an accessory after the fact in a felony and one count of destroying, altering or concealing evidence in relation to a felony. He is being held on $50,000 bond pending a court appearance in Amelia County on Tuesday, August 19.

Brenda F. Powers has been charged with six counts of being an accessory after the fact in a felony and one count of destroying, altering or concealing evidence in relation to a felony. She is being held without bond pending her court appearance in Amelia on August 19.

i no the powers,bennett and david as well as brad harris. helping a friend from being killed should never b a crime. powers n harris didnt no about this. n i dont know about bennett n david. but the drug thing def. has nothing to do with this so y even say tht

I wish the police would investigate better and see crucial facts to this case such as others involved with the suspects run. The sister and mother of Joey are friends with these people charged and are also involved significantly. The people being charged for helping should not take all the blame for this.

YES I KNOW THE POWERS AND THEY JUST TRY TO HELP PEOPLE IF THEY CAN. I BELIEVE THEY DIDNT KNOW WHAT HAPPEN. THEY WERE JUST HELPING A GOOD FRIEND THAT THEY SAW AS A SON.

Yes I Know the powers that have been arrested in connection with death of taliaferro the powers are known drug dealers the cops have been over there a dozen of times so its no shock that they were invovled in this crime
