Two community groups have partnered to sponsor a free financial workshop for Powhatan residents, this Saturday at the Powhatan Public Library.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and will focus on topics including preparing for possible job loss, avoiding foreclosure, and knowing when the right time is to purchase a home.

The panel will include Larry Lyons, President and CEO of Central Virginia Bank, Dick Jenkins, Mortgage Loan Officer, Mary Ellen Twigg, Investments, and Arla Halpin, who works in the Educational Resources Department of the local Extension Office.

This event is being sponsored by Powhatan Social Services and the Powhatan Pastor’s Association.
