Graduation 2010
Published: June 16, 2010
It was a proud day for the 301 students who glided across the stage to accept their diploma’s last Saturday at Powhatan High School, but just as proud a day for the hundreds of family members crowded into the gym to witness the event.

Those in attendance heard from School Superintendant Dr. Margaret S. Meara during the presentation, as well as PHS Principal Bob Carden and School Board Chairman Tim Gresham, who advised the newly minted high school graduates to build their futures on a solid foundation “educationally, spiritually, and physically.”

“Doing what is right is not always the fastest or cheapest way to do something,” Gresham told the graduates. “But doing the right thing will help you get where you really want to be.”
