Eric W. Buckland, Lt. Col. (ret.) of Centreville, will discuss his first book, Mosby’s Keydet Rangers, at the June 18 dinner meeting of the Powhatan Civil War Round Table.

A graduate of University of Kansas with a lifelong interested in the Civil War, Buckland studied unconventional warfare during several tours of duty in Honduras, El Salvador and Panama.

He was drawn to Col. John Singleton Mosby and his 43rd Battalion Virginia Cavalry as a subject for several reasons. One was that Mosby specialized in unconventional warfare, often operating behind Union lines, providing lightning strikes and constant headaches to the Northern generals.

The June 18 dinner meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at The County Seat Restaurant in Powhatan Courthouse. Pre-paid dinner reservations should be made by Tues., June 16. Send checks or money orders ($16 for members; $20 for guests) to PCWRT, P.O.Box 1144, Powhatan, Va. 23139.For additional information log on to http://www.PowhatanCWRT.com or call (804) 794-5831.
