Looking for something for the kids to do this summer?

Nature Quest is a series of nature workshops held throughout the summer and are open to all boys and girls ages 6 to 9.

The first workshop will be held Wednesday, June 24, with a “Bloomin’ in June” theme.

The next workshop takes place Wednesday, August 26, with a “Buggin’ Out” theme. Nature Quest engages youth in hands-on learning activities that promote environmental awareness, as well as an appreciation of the exciting world of nature and the outdoors.

Cost to participate is $3 per class or $5 for both June and August classes. Each workshop takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. in the large conference room of the Powhatan Public Library in Fighting Creek Park.

These workshops are sponsored by the Goochland Powhatan Master Gardeners and Powhatan 4-H program.

Class size is limited so registration is required.

For older youth, ages 9 to 13, an Extended Nature Quest will be offered July 8, 9 and 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. To pre-register for any of the Nature Quest workshops, contact Cathy Howland at the Powhatan Extension Office, 3872 Old Buckingham Road, 598-5640 or email chowland@vt.edu.
