Man sentenced to serve jail time for fourth DIU in 10 years
3 CommentsPublished: May 28, 2009 Michael Copley, Staff Writer Herbert Linthicum was arrested October 31, 2008 charged with driving under the influence. According to the arresting officer, Linthicum was unresponsive at the wheel and asleep through two traffic light cycles. Last week Linthicum, 50, pleaded guilty under a plea agreement and was ordered to serve one year in the penitentiary. Linthicum was convicted of DUI in Chesterfield County in 2000, 2002 and 2006. “You endanger everyone who uses these roads,” Warren told Linthicum last week. “This is not about drinking, it’s not a crusade against drinking. When you get behind the wheel of a car [drunk], you may as well be driving around shooting a revolver.” Linthicum was sentenced to five years in prison with four suspended and ordered to pay a $2,500 fine with $1,500 suspended. |
