Mill at Fine Creek hosts dinner for Christmas Mother

A number of generous Powhatan residents gathered at the Mill at Fine Creek Oct. 30 to enjoy a delicious meal and support the Powhatan Christmas Mother program.

The Chef’s Tasting Dinner, which offered those in attendance the chance to enjoy such delicacies as seared oyster, jumbo lump crab and seared duck breast, was “delightful,” reported Christmas Mother Kay Mann.

Even more wonderful, she said, was that Mill at Fine Creek owner Lisa Benusa donated 100 percent of the profits from the $150 per plate event to the Christmas Mother program, which works to make sure all children and families are remembered at Christmas time.

Mann extended her sincere thanks both to the attendees and to Benusa, a woman she described as “the gift that keeps on giving.“

“The biggest reason [Lisa] is so successful is because she gives so much,” said Mann.  “She’s just a beautiful person.”
