One arrested after drug investigation Published: August 02, 2010 By Michael Copley A Powhatan man was arrested on firearms and drug charges July 25 after a months-long drug investigation. Franklin Junior Michaux, 38, is charged with drug possession, possession of drugs with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Michaux was convicted in 1999 of two counts of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and sentenced to 40 years in prison with 34 years suspended. He was also fined $10,000, according to court records. In 2008, Michaux and another man, Anthony McKoy, were shot inside a home on Three Bridge Rd. during what court documents describe as a confrontation with three males who were demanding money from both men. McKoy died from gunshot wounds to his torso. Michaux, who was shot in the arm, was treated and released the day of the shooting. Mark Bowes contributed to this report |

I hope so. I’m tired of seeing these thugs get away with out and out disrespect for this county and the deputies. They think they can do and say anything they want like they are untouchable. I’m tired of it. The detectives know who they are and I expect something to be done about it!! shelia barnes of chesterfield

He was just pulled in Richmond on failure to obey and driving on suspended. If they would have looked further they would have found a firearm, marijuana and that he was driving the vehicle with minors in it without the permission of the owner. Powhatan Resident 2 of Powhatan

If they could do this, then why didn’t they do it for the house on Bell Rd. where the guy had a 20yr. sentence with 19yr. 5mths. suspended. Funny though, he was only fined $500 for the same crime. Hmmmmmmmmm. chesterfieldst of Chesterfied

Just seems some people are just too stupid to learn from their experiences or just no good. So now that he’s in trouble again, his 34 years suspended on his prior sentence of 40 years is now what he is required to serve. What a dummy! Submit Your Comments Below |
