The Powhatan Sherriff’s Department is searching for three suspects believed to have been involved in a shooting the morning of Friday, November 28 in Powhatan.

According to a statement released this morning, the Sherriff’s office received a call from an unidentified county resident at approximately 9:45 a.m., alerting them to a shooting at a home in the 4300 block of Three Bridge Road. The caller informed the dispatcher that two people had been shot and that three suspects had fled the scene.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals, one by Med Flight, but their identities have not been released at this time.

The Powhatan Sheriff’s Office is now searching for a grey or silver 80’s/early 90’s 4 door model Cadillac, with three black males, wearing dark clothing. The vehicle may have New Jersey license plates.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or the three suspects is asked to call the Powhatan Sheriff’s Office at (804) 598-5656.

We will continue to update this story as information becomes available.

To “Anonimous” - why aren’t they releasing more?  That’s what people are saying, not just me.  And it’s being said by those who were present.  Maybe it’s you who doesn’t know the FACTS or don’t want to face the facts.  I don’t think any deserves to be shot but when you live a certain type of lifestyle, you are taking that chance and putting yourself and others around you at risk.

First I would like to start with sending my condolensces to the family of the victim, may God bless you.

I would also like to respond to the post from Powhatan Resident—you shouldn’t spread rumors unless you know the FACTS. If you weren’t there or did your own research (which clearly you didn’t because you called it a “rumor”)you should not post about things you do not know to be fact especially when you are making accusations about people who can clearly be identified from your post being that there was only one high school boy killed in the county this year.  Be smarter about what you post…people who visit news sites such as this prefer facts, not rumors.

Why aren’t they releasing more…rumor has it, it was a drug thing and possibly the father of that high school boy killed.
