For the 7th consecutive year, the Powhatan Junior Woman’s Club will host its Holiday Gift Harvest on Saturday, November 22 at Powhatan United Methodist Church located in the village (Route 13).

The PJWC’s Holiday Gift Harvest, which is the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Activities included in the day-long event include 30 crafters and vendors, a 50/50 raffle and the first chance for shoppers to order/purchase this year’s PJWC holiday tree ornament.

The ornament, which is a PJWC tradition, is known for featuring a Powhatan historical site or marker and has become a collector’s item for many local residents.

In year’s past, the ornament has showcased Maxey’s Store, Flat Rock Supermarket and Erin Hill Plantation. This year, the pewter ornament will feature St. Emma’s of Belmead, established in 1895, which is located off Cartersville Road.  As always, you can also purchase ornaments from past years on a first come, first serve basis.

Vendors at this year’s Holiday Gift Harvest include homemade baskets, beaded jewelry, seasonal hand-made items, purses, pottery and more.

Proceeds from the Holiday Gift Harvest and ornament sales go to the PJWC who in turn support many local organizations including the Powhatan Christmas Mother program, Powhatan Fire Department, Powhatan Sheriff’s Department, Relay for Life and many more.
