A Powhatan man who admitted stealing a rifle and other property from a county home faces up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced in May.

Between June and September 2010, Christopher Joseph Semones, 21, stole a rifle, computer, camera and other electronic equipment from a home in the 1100 block of Bradbury Road in Powhatan.

Investigators found the .22 caliber rifle in Semones’ father’s house, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Richard Cox said.

Semones pleaded guilty to two counts of grand larceny.

He was allowed to remain free on bond ahead of a May 13 sentencing hearing.
