A Richmond woman who was found in possession of a carload of property stolen from a home in Powhatan County was sentenced to two years in prison May 13. The judge stopped short of ordering restitution for everything that was reported stolen from the home, including meat products, because the woman was not convicted of the actual thefts.

Jessica Wooten pleaded guilty to accepting stolen property and prosecutors dismissed a charge of breaking and entering.

Wooten’s lawyer, Theron L. Marsh, said the items were stolen during a crime spree “that went from county to county.”

Circuit Judge James F. D’Alton Jr. handed down a 10-year sentence with eight years suspended.

It’s a good thing she didn’t rape any children, or D’Alton would have sentenced her to an extra 6 months!
