Powhatan authorities confirmed that Tahliek Taliaferro, a resident of Powhatan County, was shot and killed Tuesday when the passengers of a white Dodge Durango opened fire with a rifle and a handgun.

Taliaferro, 18, was a student at Powhatan High School and a standout on the basketball and football teams.

The incident occurred yesterday at around 6:45 p.m., near the Flat Rock area of Powhatan. A second victim, a juvenile, survived the shooting and is recovering at a local hospital.

Early this morning, the white Dodge Durango described to police by witnesses was found at a residence in Amelia. Physical evidence relating to the shooting was also found.

Rest in peace Tahliek Taliaferro, my sympathy will go out to his family.  It’s really hard losing someone so young!  I will pray for him!

TRUTH…If the opposite had happened it would not be considered a racial crime. All those kids live in a generation of hopelessness. ALL OF THEM! The other boys could have been killed just as easy. Pretty sad all of these KIDS think they need guns. They need a relationship with JESUS CHRIST! Who loves them and died for all of them. I pray for ALL involved. I’m not talking church either, I’m talking relationship!

well there goes our tax money, three more going to be locked up and all of our tax money paying there medical, dental, vision, food , room and board. all of us having to take care of them the rest of there lives.I say turn them into human bug zappers, all of them that were in on it. , Stephanie, Joey, Ethan, Jess, and the two girls that helped them and knew about it Jess , bennett you are just as guilty and will pay when you face your maker….....

I agree with you as far as all three should be punished “B” b/c yes they all knew about it after the fact and decided to run.  I know that Tahliek does not fight fair one on one, if that is the case then why you and 4 of your other friends jump my brother in the school hall ways in 2006. I know if it were me, i would be scared also seeing so many people coming after me. And I had a friend that was in jail with Ethan for a few days and talked to him, and he also states that there was a gun that was pulled out from one of them, it was a BB gun, but from view you can not tell the difference. Also the police reported last week sometime that they found it was not a AK47 that killed him it was just another rifle.

I am just tired of seeing everyone wishing upon what they are going through for another family. I do feel for the victims family trust me, b/c like i said it should be left in no man’s hands. Let the power from above take care of them, they will get their own punishment, No need for people in our once peaceful community trying to take the law or revenage in their hands. If so you are just as bad as the killer.
