Two homes in Powhatan burglarized Published: September 22, 2010 By Michael Copley Two homes in Powhatan were burglarized this week, just days after two people were arraigned in Powhatan, and in a number of other localities, as the parties responsible for burglarizing over 80 homes in Virginia. A house in the 2100 block of Genito Rd. and one in the 800 block of Clayville Rd. were broken into Sept. 21 during daylight hours, the Sheriff’s Office says. Jewelry, televisions, cameras and collectables were stolen. Arrainged last week in Powhatan were Maurice Becton, 29, and Dominyce Brown, 24, on charges of breaking and entering, grand larceny and felony vandalism. Becton is being held in custody without bond; Brown was released ahead of a hearing Dec. 10. Anyone who sees suspicious activity or who has information about the most recent crimes is asked to call Powhatan Crime Solvers at 403-4357 or the Sheriff’s Office at 598-5652. |
