Two years ago the Powhatan Junior High PTO established an Inspirational Teacher of the Year Award. Parents, students, and faculty were asked to write about a teacher who inspires them. Overwhelmingly we were told about a teacher who inspires his students to achieve to their fullest potential. The students and parents wrote that Mr. Perry makes learning fun and that he teaches outside the box. They also wrote that he treats all students with respect and takes the time outside of his normal hours to tutor them.
