Up in the air? Youth and undecided head to the polls
Published: November 04, 2008

I’d be surprised to hear of undecided voters at this stage in the game. We have been saturated with political rhetoric for the past few months, but how much of an impact do campaign ads have and what is really driving the choices voters make?

The youth vote was expected to play in Sen. Obama’s favor, but listening to a PHS student volunteer talk outside of a fairly vacant District 1 polling station at 10:45 this morning, expectations seem less certain.

“I think it’s important for us to get out and support McCain,” said the young Republican volunteer. He said he expected a majority of the county’s youth to vote Republican, “But a lot of people [my age] aren’t looking at the serious issues,” he said, “They just like the appeal of change.”

Volunteers from around the area have indicated that voters seem settled when they arrive to cast their votes. There has been speculation on the national stage regarding the potential for disparity between polling responses and the decisions voters ultimately make in private.

So for now it’s a matter of waiting your turn and holding your breath for the count.

i have lived in ptown all of my life and the county is really grown which is a bad thing due to the wildlife. but u know change is not allways for the better just remember the new pres. does not have any qualifications to be in the w house he lived with the taliban group his wife allready stated she hated americans. plus his associate blew a building up saying he wished more americans died.it is a shame no one challenged his personal life and for that i am sure as america is know we are in for a big change.he holds the key to the nukes. this reminds me of bush"s election look where it got us and he had experience so we all need to start thinking who is really quallified instead of the word change those who voted are going to regret it.

You are responsible.

You are about to elect a President and a legislature who will give you a bigger government and more spending. Your new President will give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, drastically increase the number of H-1B visas, and eliminate E-verify at a time when millions of American Citizens are out of work. Your new Commander in Chief will keep American soldiers in Iraq against your will. Your new Chief Executive will borrow, spend, give away, and waste billions of dollars when the national debt is passing $12 trillion. Against your wishes, your new President helped Bush give $1 trillion to the banks as his parting gift. Your new President and legislature will continue to take your money and give it to someone else. No matter how much you object, neither Public Servant Number One nor the legislature will listen and will continue to implement their own agenda. It doesn’t matter if it’s Democrat or Republican.

You are responsible for what you’re going to get so, no whining later.
