Zumba! Published: January 03, 2011 Every Saturday morning, a group of dedicated Powhatan women gather at Premier Dance studio to take Audrey Bonafe’s Zumba class. Zumba, which uses Latin music and rhythms in a high-energy dance workout routine, has been gaining popularity in recent years as an alternative to spending hours on the treadmill or the elliptical. “It’s absolutely wonderful, it’s exhilarating,” said Amy Snellings. “I don’t intend to ever stop.” |

I take Zumba from Audrey with a group of co-workers 2 afternoons a week and am thoroughly enjoying it! Audrey is a fun, energetic, enthusiastic instructor and I look forward to learning more and more Zumba moves. I am a fanatical walk aerobics girl and I will tell you that after the first class I left feeling like I had 2 left feet. You just keep the pace of the workout and believe it or not you do catch on…The music is absolutely hypnotic…I was ready to move out of my exercise comfort zone and decided to try Zumba. I encourage everyone to look about our wonderful community and explore all of the awesome ways to get moving and be healthy!!! Just Me of Powhatan

This is a news article? This doesn’t even look like an “article” to me. Who was the “reporter” or “writer”? Considering the many New Year resolutions to lose weight or get into shape, seems like a nice community interest article would highlight all that is available in the county to help residents meet their resolution goals. Are there any classes at Martial Arts World that would fit with this theme? What about any Yoga or Tai-chi classes. What does the YMCA offer? Are there any other Zumba classes offered in the county? Are there any other types of fitness or exercise classes in the county? This “article” is nothing more than an unprofessional semi-ad. Carol Lucas of Powhatan, Va
