County continues to refuse cost-cutting help from resident
Published: March 30, 2011

Editor’s note: The technology that Mr. Smith refers to in his letter centers on a specialized lubricant to be used in the maintenance of vehicles.

Dear Editor,

We cannot tell you how elated and pleased we were to learn that the county is absolutely flush with money. How do we know this? Very simple:

Approximately two years ago we approached Dr. Margaret Meara, advising her that our technology could save her education department approximately $1 million (net) in operating costs each year. After more than two years, neither Dr. Meara nor any of her staff has had the time to meet with us. The obvious conclusion is that Powhatan education is so filled with money that they have no need to worry about saving any.

Over one year ago we approached the Powhatan Sheriff’s Department advising them that our technology could save them at least $300,000 (net) in their operating costs each year. After only one brief meeting with a department staff member, they have not followed up. Numerous phone calls have never been returned. Again, it is obvious that the Powhatan Sheriff’s Department has so much money that they also have no need to save any.

The icing on the cake was the Powhatan County Rescue Squad. We left messages for them indicating substantial net savings with our technology. They also never returned our calls. In addition, they showed no interest in our technology even after it was offered to them as a contribution at no charge. Once again, another Powhatan agency that is rife with money and has no need to save any.

In view of all of this, one must conclude that in spite of the poor economy, Powhatan County is drowning in money. The Powhatan Board of Supervisors should immediately move to reduce all county taxes in addition to giving all Powhatan tax payers a substantial refund for taxes paid in the past.

EVERY letter that is not obscene deserves to be printed. The country I come from has always promoted itself as the “home of the free” (freedom of speech being a biggie). Seems to me Dr. Weldon Smith epitomizes the spirit of American innovation and entrepreneurship.

If anyone would like to know about the information here go to http://www.theparsecgroup.com. This was not intended as “free advertising” or anything of the sort. When you are offering goverent entities a method of saving money (by doubling the engine life of their vehicles, increasing energy savings and the like) and they simply are not interested - more than likely because they will get more vehicles from tax dollars, then you have to wonder why the county is complaining of being in a money crunch. This is one reason that our products were at one point offered freely. If you consider our company holding a grudge against wasteful government spending of tax dollars, then I guess you could say that we do. But in relation to not buying our products no we don’t. We have plenty of past purchases from major companies to prove that a small county like Powhatan is neither here nor there.

It doesn’t take a PhD. to figure this out (no disrespect intended good Dr.‘s Loveless and Whatever). Clearly Dr. Smith has a grudge. Nowhere in his “novel” of complaints against our County Departments does it explain the technology he is referring to. Nor does it give any type of financial breakdown to back up such claims. Could it be possible that your “technology” is not up to the standard you believe it to be? I must say, even as promotional material, it is severely lacking content that would give anyone who may choose to research your product any indication of what you have to offer. Free advertising? Maybe. Poor advertising/ Certainly.

Oh my god poor thing.  Did they really not pick you.  Life sucks move on.  I would never use your company for anything because you do not know how to properly resolve your issues.

I agree with Dr. Mig.  This nonsense shouldn’t have been printed.  Unless J. Weldon wants to pay for some advertising space of course.

This letter is promotional material.  The writer is trying to promote his own business, and it is being done in a sarcastic and unprofessional manner.  You should not have printed this letter.
