Nov 30, 2011 Letters Former candidate for treasurer offers thanks to community for support; Veterans Day program once again a success May 25, 2011 Second Historic Bike Ride was huge success for Powhatan Almost 400 riders biked a 30, 60, or 100 mile trail that swept through Powhatan and Amelia. May 04, 2011 ‘Thank you’ to supervisors for keeping their word on 711 development When the committees were formed to study and recommend the use of property along Route 711, they said there would be no commercial development west of the intersection of 288. I was promised that such would be so. I commend the gentleman for sticking to their word and upholding a promise. I commend them for their action and thank them for their honesty. May 04, 2011 More support for denial of veterinarian’s CUP request It is obvious that there is little knowledge about the location of the proposed clinic. The clinic was not to be located on Huguenot Trail (Route 711) but on Woolridge Rd. (Route 721). This intersection is one of the three most dangerous intersections in Powhatan, if not the most dangerous. May 04, 2011 Supervisors made the right call on Route 711 clinic CUP In rebuttal to the denigrating editorial and postings on the denial of the veterinary clinic CUP, I applaud the three supervisors for their courage! Thank you for not “going along to get along” politically, and voting yes. Apr 27, 2011 Fair group thanks those who helped with Chow Down The Powhatan Fair Association would like to thank the volunteers and the community for supporting the Chow Down Food Festival and “Hungry to Help” food Drive. Participants generously donated 1,330 meals to the Central VA Food Bank and a truckload for our local food pantry. Apr 14, 2011 Volunteers are what make county Free Clinic what it is In recognition of National Volunteer Week, the Free Clinic of Powhatan thanks ALL who help to provide quality and compassionate health care services to the low income, uninsured adult Powhatan County residents. We could not operate the Clinic without your contributions. Apr 14, 2011 Future Problem Solvers did county school system proud The 4th Graders from Pocohontas Elementary School, coached by Diane Hardt, took first place in the junior division for the state, and will be headed to the International Conference at the University of Wisconsin at La Cross. |
