foreign currency exchanges or divisas can be a good way to obtain funding for good causes and major humanitarian projects and their patronage should be encouraged by all Governments and major banking and financial institutions.

I live out here because I don’t want the city amenities! Respect the fact that the small business here are here to provide small town service with a smile.

I think Powhatan residents should support Powhatan business whenever possible. The more revenue generated by business will take the pressure off of real estate taxes. Keep in mind, when the local charities and schools are looking for donations, Powhatan business is who supports them. And if the Walmart opens, it will only create additional revenue for Powhatan because the locals will still go to Walmart for items not found in local business so why not have one in the county creating revenue for Powhatan

“that there door step” - not sure if this is a misspelling or just bad grammar…

It is not up to you or me to tell people how to spend their money.  The Obama administration is attempting to do that…and that is called Communism.  If people want to purchase expensive cars and homes and have the money it is their business.

This community needs more businesses, whether you like the small business or large business.  It is plain and simple.  Real estate taxes will go up again this year we are told.  People are unemployed and believe me the jobs are hard to find. How are people to pay their taxes on their property if they are unemployed?  This county will continue to raise real estate taxes to cover their deficits until someone explains to them simple economics.  Bringing in businesses, whether small or large, will allow for more taxes coming from those businesses and some relief to the homeowners with real estate taxes.  Adding nine cents to the already eighty cents per $1,000 in real estate taxes is getting fairly high and I have heard through the village grapevine that the BOS is talking about raising real estate some twenty cents or more, yes adding another twenty cents or more to the soon to be eighty nine cents per $1,000 tax.  When will it stop?  Hey, I have an idea for you, keep raising real estate taxes pushing people out of the area because they can’t afford to live here and we won’t have to worry about large businesses OR small businesses.

My conclusion to this question is:

First: American People are all about one person, themselves!!! This is obvious, look at the amount of people who have no problem causing an issue instead of creating a solution.

Second: As a group, Americans over spend. There is no reason to buy $100.00 jeans, $900,000 homes, own 10 maxed out credit cards and only pay the minimum due each month!

Third and final: People want the convenience of city shopping at that there county door step!!! I love the county, the woods and the critters that call it home… I live out here because I don’t want the city amenities! Respect the fact that the small business here are here to provide small town service with a smile.

The point is, as a society we are spoiled, rude and disrespectful. Only caring about how “I” can get ahead, and screw the little guy and his hard work!

Are we going to start having people arrested if they do not shop where it is assumed to “our responsibility”...shopping police.  Yeah, that’s what we need.  Where the deal is will be where I shop!

Americans by the millions purchased foreign cars because there were cheaper and now our national economy is collapsing and millions of jobs are lost.  What do you think our local people will do, pay more to shop at a Ptown store or go to Walmart and save some cash.  The consumer does not care about the business, only the amount of money they can save for themselves, even if the long term result is lost jobs for everyone.  Bottom line if you drive a foreign car your not going to pay more to shop here.
