Parks and Recreation
Powhatan County recently hired its first Director of Parks and Recreation. What projects and programs would you like to see implemented? What does Powhatan need?

I think a park is cool for our kids, but once one comes more comes?Powhatan needs to stay country, for the people and the wildlife!Just because 1 county has things don’t mean this county needs its.

My wife and I are excited about the potential of the young adults leagues for sports/activities. Especially volleyball!

We believe that Parks and Rec is an excellent use of tax payer’s dollars to build community fellowship.

We look forward to more parks and activities to enhance our lives while still keeping the country charm of this county.

A series of bike trails would be nice.  It is difficult to enjoy riding up and down 711, Three Bridge, and 522.

Now that Powhatan does have a new director of Parks and Rec. our county definitely needs to complete the Fighting Creek Park.  We need public access to athletic fields, basketball courts, and play grounds.  Chesterfield has many of these and I have visited these thinking, why doesn’t Powhatan have one?  I know it is in the process of being built but, we need this as soon as possible.
