The old house of Mosby, on Mosby Rd… I grew up on that road and let me tell you, the stories always flew… Some long term residents say that Mosby Rd is “hunted” by the Mosby ghost because he was angery about his house being moved!!! It is to my understanding that the house was moved to another location… I think it went somewhere Ballsville Road.

I’d like to see a story on the part of Powhatan where I grew up: Clayville.  There used to be a very large brickyard there that was built in the late 19th century.  The presence of the brickyard preciptated the building of a school and post office because of the many brickyard workers.  I lived near the woods where part of the brickyard had been and used to explore there. From a little internet research I’ve learned that Clayville bricks were used all over the state and even further.  It would be interesting to learn more about the area.

Either something on the history of Bellmeade, or how the James River has changed and played a part of Powhatan’s history.
