Q and A: Beekeeper Tom O’Neil Retired Virginia Power employee Tom O’Neil founded the Huguenot Beekeepers’ Association a few years back to help promote beekeeping amidst the destruction the toxic varroa mite was causing to domesticated and wild honeybees across the United States and in other parts of the world. In February, O’Neil will be teaching a beginning beekeeping course in conjunction with Virginia Cooperative Extension. The classes will be held at the Powhatan Village Building.
