Junior High baseball team falls to Halifax, dominates Northern

The Junior High baseball team recently traveled to Halifax to compete in the Annual Preseason Halifax Tournament Saturday. In the first game the Indians went up against an experienced Franklin squad and were led by Alex Huguchi going 3-5 with two back to back home runs. The Indians ultimately fell short, losing 17-11, in an exciting see-saw battle after scoring eight runs in the first inning. Next, the Indians were pitted against Northern in the consolation game. The Indians set the tone with great pitching from almost the entire staff and continued the domination at the plate.

The Indians were led by Tyler Robinson going 2-3 with a triple and Colby Franklin going 4-4 with three singles and a triple. In the end, Powhatan defeated Northern 11-1. Next the Indians play at home against Lunenburg on April 2.
